A legacy operation, this facility has been ran by the same family for 4 generations. The craft and experience are passed on from one generation to the next, increasing their level of expertise every time: Luigi the founder started with a small production of workwear fabrics, afterwards his son Primo converted the weaving facility into a denim mill. Next in line Gianluigi refined their focus to pioneer premium denim. Nowadays Alberto leads the mill with the aim of becoming “the greenest textile company in the blue world”. The mill sources its water from local aqueducts and wells, with continuous updates towards more sustainable and efficient water management processes. As part of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) initiative they have since long completely eliminated the use of eleven hazardous chemicals from their operations and signed on Greenpeace’s Detox Commitment to become part of the Italian Detox Implementation Consortium. As contributors ZDHC contributors, they have a say in future chemical management protocols, rules and regulations, having a direct impact across the industry. As a result their dyeing technique has been meticulously engineered to achieve a very superficial yarn penetration, which allows for dyes to easily be washed away during the laundry process to achieve a faded aesthetic, while saving water and chemicals. This is a one-stop-shop for our organic Washed Denim Fabric where spinning, dyeing, weaving and finishing all happen under the same roof.
